Birmingham has some very stately historic homes and quaint areas like Homewood. Don’t forget to check out the SOHO area there. During the summer months, the Birmingham Museum of Art has an “Art on the Rocks” show which features music from bands as well as food and drinks. It’s a lot of fun. The Alabama Ballet and the Alabama Symphony Orchestra are located here. Don’t miss the Cities Stages weekend festival. I’ve been attending the last few years and it’s quite fun. If possible, stay at the Ross Bridge Resort. I am not much of a golfer but hear it’s a great course. The have a the wonderful spa. It sort of looks a bit like a historic castle. You will find that Birmingham is a great place to visit.

Birmingham was forward thinking and kept its historic buildings and as a result many of them are trendy lofts now. The Barber Motorsports and Vintage Museum ia a cool place to visit. It has more than 800 motorcycles and vintage cars and has a cool racing track that lets you watch the action. There is talk of getting an indy race.
